What We Do

top-cap-bluetop-cap-white

Seacology’s mission is to protect threatened island ecosystems all over the world. We do that by working directly with communities, helping them to preserve their cultures and improve their lives while saving precious island habitats.

Why Islands?

Islands are home to unique plant and animal species–and if they disappear from an island, they are lost to the entire world forever.

Our Approach

With Seacology’s unique win-win strategy, we work directly with island communities, responding to their needs and supporting their efforts at conservation.

Key Ecosystems

Our work protects many kinds of island habitat, but recently more of our projects have focused on three key ecosystems: mangroves, peatlands, and seagrass.

Climate Crisis

Islanders around the world are experiencing the sometimes disastrous effects of sea level rise, acidifying oceans, and more powerful storms.
