Seacology Expedition to Fiji
May 10-22, 2025
Welcome to Fiji
The spectacular Fijian Islands are known for picturesque coastlines, verdant rainforests, and welcoming people—it’s a place where everyone should set foot at least once! In May 2025, Seacology will lead an expedition focusing on two of the country’s islands, where guests can immerse themselves in the stunning natural beauty and unique culture of this South Pacific country.
For more than two decades, Seacology has worked with dozens of Fijian communities to protect vulnerable ecosystems, improve people’s quality of life, and build resilience against increasingly severe tropical storms. Our group will visit current and potential partner communities to see how our grassroots approach works up-close, and meet the people who benefit from it.
We hope you’ll join us for this unforgettable visit to one of the world’s most beautiful countries!
Our accommodations
Our journey begins on the small island of Nukubati in northern Fiji. Less than a mile across, the island lies at the heart of the Cakaulevu Reef, offering visitors access to the world’s third-longest coral reef system.
Powered by one of Fiji’s oldest and largest solar power systems, the Nukubati Island Resort has long been a leader in sustainable travel. As one of a few destinations in the world to win the Travelers’ Choice Award for ten consecutive years, the property has earned a place in the Tripadvisor Hall of Fame. The small, exclusive property offers exceptional service and striking views from its five spacious bures (bungalows). In line with a decades-long commitment to sustainability, the resort relies on solar and wind energy and harvested rainwater, and composts its organic waste for the on-site organic garden from which it sources its produce.
The second phase of our journey will take us east to Taveuni, Fiji’s third-largest island. There, divers and snorkelers can immerse themselves in the vibrant colors of the Rainbow Reef, while enjoying the exceptional service and comfort of the Taveuni Dive Resort. With a five-star rating on Tripadvisor, the resort offers eight spacious bures surrounded by dense foliage, traditional Fijian and international cuisine, and more. Designed by divers, for divers, the resort houses a fully equipped dive center, which can provide comprehensive training for new divers.
Explore land and sea
Fiji is home to spectacular natural environments, above and below the surface. Vibrant coral reefs teeming with life, lush green tropical forests, and unspoiled white sand beaches await the adventurous travelers who join our expedition.
Both Nukubati and Taveuni offer easy access to some of the South Pacific’s best diving destinations, and our expedition features incredible opportunities to dive. Fantastic snorkeling, hiking, kayaking, and other outdoor activities are available to our trip’s guests, divers and non-divers alike.
Seacology in Fiji
For 25 years, Seacology has worked with Fijian communities to protect threatened ecosystems across the country. Our projects have provided schools, electrification, storm shelters, and other critical infrastructure in exchange for the preservation of hundreds of thousands of acres of marine and forest habitats.
Our guests will have the exclusive opportunity to meet current and future project partners, participate in traditional festivities, and see up-close how Seacology’s support is making a difference in this beautiful country and for the people who call it home.
