Madagascar
2008
Madagascar is justly famous for its biodiversity. It is the only place in the world where visitors can see lemurs (a diverse group of primates), towering baobob trees, and literally thousands of other kinds of plants and animals. (In fact, there are more than a thousand species of orchids alone!) On this trip, travelers spotted lemurs as they hiked through rainforest reserves, visited Seacology projects in the arid southern part of the country, and met a Seacology Prize recipient, Dr. Elisabeth Rabakonandrianina.
