India field representative delights in work well done

September 18, 2017

Field representatives—the local people who help communities all over the world develop projects with Seacology—are essential to our efforts. Field Rep Vineeta Hoon is an accomplished conservationist and cultural geographer. Her studies and career, which have taken her from the Arctic to the Himalayas to the Sundarbans, have given her a deep knowledge of and appreciation for of the relationships between indigenous people and their lands and waters. She’s overseen Seacology’s projects in India and Bangladesh since 2010.

In this short video, Vineeta explains her passion for working with island communities, the importance of preserving coral reefs and other biodiverse habitats, the unique role that Seacology plays in conservation, and some of her favorite projects we’ve done in India.
