Seacology, together with NuSkin Taiwan, has assisted the Tayo people in the establishment of new mangrove preserves and the planting of 10,000 mangrove seedlings. Please see a Seacology breaking news article for more information on this project. Mangroves act as a buffer to coastline and as nurseries for diverse species of fish. Fifty percent of the world's mangrove forests have already been destroyed as a result of commercial development, particularly industrial aquaculture. Seacology is committed to assisting island communities in preserving mangrove biodiversity and providing sustainable alternatives to mangrove destruction.
