Update on Haiti LaSerre Water Supply
As you have seen in the photographs, La Serre is in an exceedingly dry area in Haiti and water is bought and sold on a daily basis throughout this region. In a recent visit, I saw the villagers of La Serre drinking the water, children playing in clean water and women carrying water to their homes for use in cooking, washing and cleaning. I wish you could have seen the newborn child brought to me on my last visit by a young woman who said to me, "Before we had this water, my child would have had to be washed in old rainwater and often children did not live." I wish you could see how many children are now free of skin infections blemishes because they have a reliable clean water supply in which to bathe. This village is very grateful to Seacology for allowing this well to be built. We are working on another project in Haiti and will have more information about this project in the next few months.
