A Letter from the Chairman
This newsletter is our attempt to inform you about some of the exciting things happening at Seacology. I realize that this newsletter is a poor substitute for field experience--I wish that you could sit with us in the chief's council of Tafua Village and hear the villagers express their heartfelt gratitude for your assistance in helping protect the rainforest. I also wish that you could have been with us in Falealupo and heard every chief in the village express their thanks for the construction of a rainforest information center and the beginnings of an aerial walkway.
Unlike other foundations, 100% of all funds donated to Seacology go directly to the projects. Salaries, administrative costs, phone and mail expenses are provided by our friends in the business community. Historically, our focus has been entirely on projects, with a minimum of effort directed to fund raising. We have recently been so overwhelmed with the outpouring of gratitude from Pacific islanders who are facing complete destruction of their rainforest that we wanted to pass on their comments to you.
Thank you again for helping to make it possible for us to preserve both ecosystems and indigenous cultures. As the holiday season approaches, we hope that you will consider making a further gift both to conservation and to the future of our planet, by supporting Seacology.
Thank you again for your support.
Cordially,
Nafanua Dr Paul A Cox, PhD
Chairman of the Board
